The Campaign to Fund
WHITE’S MARSH BROOK &
RONDEAU
This campaign is our effort to complete the final funding needed to close two time-sensitive conservation projects and continue our work in our community.
White’s Marsh Brook is comprised of 108 acres with wetlands and significant vernal pools in South Berwick connecting and restoring habitats for flora and fauna, reducing the risk of flooding and soil erosion. Rondeau (Cox Pond VIII) is 24 acres, contains two signficant vernal pools formed within quarry pits, and brings the Cox Pond conservation area to over 400 acres. Together, these projects compliment the Mt. Agamenticus to the Sea Conservation Initiative and builds large, connected, conservation corridors of conserved lands important for wildlife habitat, climate resilience, and public recreation. These conservation areas contain wetland and thicket habitat for several of Maine’s endangered and threatened species including:
- Blanding’s Turtle
- New England Cottontail
- Ringed Boghunter Dragonfly

With these two projects scheduled to close mid-December, we have plenty of work on our plate. However, our work does not stop there. GWRLT still needs to raise funds for stewardship and maintenance.
