Explore Beaver Activity at Orris Falls Conservation Area with Paul Dest

Join Paul Dest, Executive Director of the Wells Reserve for an eye-opening hike of the Orris Falls Conservation Area from 10am to 1pm! As informative as this land is unique, the hike will feature discussion of landscape conservation and the role beavers play in developing wetlands.

Conserved beginning in 1999, Orris Falls Conservation Area is a special place where abundant wildlife thrives in a natural environment. Straddling the border of South Berwick and Wells, this conservation area lies the remains of an ancient volcanic caldera. This diverse habitat prominently features beaver wetlands, as well as geological features such as the gorge of Orris Falls and a large perched boulder aptly named Balancing Rock.

Terrain: hilly with some steep sections, large trail network. MODERATE to DIFFICULT
