Stewardship Workday: Bauneg Beg Mountain Conservation Area South

Join GWRLT for a Stewardship Workday on Sunday, September 21st at Bauneg Beg Mountain Conservation Area South in North Berwick.  We are making a big push to improve our new trails and are having a double shift workday with one shift in our usual timeslot of 9am-noon and an afternoon shift from 12:30-3:30pm. We will have a lunchbreak between the two shifts, and we recommend bringing a bagged lunch if working both shifts.

As an extra bonus our generous neighbors Jen and Ryan Smith have offered to host a cookout with a bit of food and drink at 4:30, for those working the afternoon shift.

We will working with the Maine Conservation Corps crew and will . Most likely we will be bench-cutting into cross-slopes, to improve the trail surface. This work involves a lot of digging and we will bring the necessary tools, safety glasses and hardhats. As always, its a good idea to bring water and your favorite work gloves (but we also have plenty).

PLEASE EMAIL SHAUN DILLON WITH THE SHIFT(S) YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT WITH AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THE COOKOUT. We need this both to make sure we have enough tools, parking and food.

The Town does NOT ALLOW PARKING ON FORD QUINT RD, so if we are a lot of people we might need to park at and shuttle people to/from Bauneg Beg North.
