Tuckahoe Preserve Trail Opening Celebration
Join us for a celebration of the opening of the Tuckahoe Preserve, Friday, May 26th from 10am to 12pm! We will be hosting a brief speaking program from our members of our Board of Directors and Staff and offering a hike of the wonderful, new Wintergreen Trail at the preserve.
This 140 acre preserve was transferred to GWRLT in 2004 from the Tuckahoe Turf Farm and has been a key site of wetland and forest preservation. Tuckahoe Preserve contains approximately 6,200 linear feet of frontage along the Salmon Falls River and protects the dynamic riparian habitat for wildlife. Abutting our Keay Brook Preserve, Tuckahoe Preserve offers a 1 mile lollipop trail through a mixture of open grasslands, early successional forest, and older growth trees.
